Can you feel it? That little spring buzz tickling your nostrils? Carried on a return of daylight that turns you back into a diurnal party creature, a runny nose and red eyes courtesy of a swirl of newborn pollen. No doubt about it, spring is well and truly back — and as ever, our team has put together a playlist worthy of the occasion to welcome it in.

Same principle as always: for this new season we’re offering a pick of the twenty tracks that set our eardrums ringing in the best possible way. A digest of budding new releases spanning a multiplicity of genres and bands — the seasoned psychedelia of Ulrika Spacek, the irate garage punk of CLAMM, the controlled dream pop of The Lemon Lovers.

Once again, Belgium takes this season’s spotlight with Brussels’ own Black Box Revelation. After five incredible albums and a decade spent working stages across the US and Europe alongside the likes of Beady Eye, Iggy Pop and Seasick Steve, the band unveils a sixth and genuinely successful record, Poetic Rivals — controlled and forward-looking once more.

On our end, we hope you make the most of this temperate mood, and we’ll see you in June for a next selection that’s already shaping up to be a scorcher.
